Fans of UK TV’s Spaced will realise just how weird the idea of running some Robot Wars / Battlebots in an undisclosed car park at BarCampAustin, which ran alongside SXSW Interactive. Steel Reign is one of the leading US robots that came out for the demonstration - and I spoke to the father and son team behind the robot. What drives people to build, fight and potentially destroy a robot worth tens of thousands of dollars?
